TOP gun Andrew Howard could see his European Championships hopes shot down if he cannot secure funding.
The 19-year-old Kidderminster rifle ace is having a great season after being promoted to captain Great Britain juniors.
Howard, an aerospace engineering student at Bath University, has been selected for the championships in the Czech Republic on Saturday, July 19.
The teenager, who trains at Stourport Pistol and Rifle Club, is confident of firing his way to a medal but securing vital sponsorship is proving a struggle.
Howard said: "This is my last year as a junior and I am certainly capable of bringing back a medal if I go well prepared.
"But I'm really concerned if I can't get any funding it will jeopardise my chances of doing this. I must make the most of this opportunity to excel in my sport.
"I have finished my first year at university and am totally reliant on my student loan which is exhausted for the year. In order to compete, I need to train on a daily basis which is an expense in itself."
Howard admitted the Stourport club's support had been vital.
"They are very supportive and are always eager to help with getting me to and from the range. Without some of the members, my selection for the Europeans may not have been possible," he added.
