COACHING sessions organised by the Malvern Table Tennis League have been so successful that next season they will probably be divided into three, members heard at the annual general meeting.

The Sunday evening sessions from September to May may be split up to give younger players the chance to advance.

The Junior and Cadet teams each won their division of the National League and Joe Higgs had achieved the county number one slot at a ranking tournament.

The league would be having new main sponsors for the coming season with Brewin Dolphin Securities of Birmingham taking over rom Whatley Recordon.

Last season had been financially successful with a profit shown despite the purchase of a robot , partly with a grant from Malvern Town Council.

The officers were all re-elected with Roger Bates and Colin Dolding being elected to the committee to replace Bill Smith and Dave Woodyat, who both resigned due to family commitments.

Teams wishing to enter for next season are reminded that entries must reach the secretary by July 26. Entry forms can be obtained from the secretary Cicely Palmer on 01684) 540595.
