MATHON, Cradley & Storridge Tennis Club earned a fine victory at home against league leaders Ledbury Tennis Club.
The MCS pair of Chris Brandon-White and Duncan Hannaford started strongly to win the opening rubber 6-3, 6-1 against Bob Mitchell and David Rushton. Chris and Duncan also won their second match 6-4, 7-5.
The other MCS pair of Tony Dalley and Phil Toghill also won their first match 6-4, 6-4 against Patrick Brazil and Matthew Bourne, Tony and Phil won their final rubber 6-0, 7-5 to secure the victory for MCS and gain revenge for a defeat at Ledbury earlier in the season.
Despite Ledbury suffering their first defeat of the season they need just one point from their last two matches to secure the league title.
