AFTER winning the toss Malvern captain Andy Croft decided to bat.
MALVERN SUNDAY v RSRE
A Cullen and D Sharpe opened the batting and got off to a steady start before D Sharpe was caught behind for six. This bought M Mitchell to the crease to join A Cullen and both played excellent shots to all parts of the ground in a second wicket partnership of 187.
A Cullen was first to go, caught by Besgrove with a diving catch for 98. Mitchell retired on 100 and some big hitting at then end by R Evans (17) and A Dovey (16). Malvern reached 291-5 off their 40 overs.
RSRE went out to bat only K Warriner (20) and S Oliver (22) were the only ones to get into double figures. J Dovey 2-12, I Sumner 2-18 and A Croft 2-6 were the pick of the Malvern bowlers.
Highlight of the afternoon was R Evans' diving one handed catch in the gully to dismiss Besgrove
