MORE than 1,000 people flocked to the annual Fladbury Festival and Walkabout over the weekend, helping to raise some £16,000 for the village.
There were more than 15 gardens open to the public, with a barbecue, stalls and bouncy castle in the village school.
The church was bedecked with flower arrangements in the themes of books and musicals and there were also boat trips down the river.
A jazz band played in the rectory garden and there were also bands playing on the green and village hall. Other highlights included a concert in the church on Saturday evening and a fun run around the village in which 200 people took part.
"It was very successful and luck was definitely on our side with the weather," said festival chairman Andrew Parsloe.
"Everybody had a really good time."
The money raised from the event goes towards the village church, with about 15 per cent going to other village causes.
