WORCESTER welterweight Leroy Williamson was a late replacement to take on Edinburgh's unbeaten Gary Young at Glasgow's Braehead Arena.
Sporting a new bleached blond hairstyle, Williamson took to the ring in front of a dwindling crowd that had earlier witnessed local favourite Scott Harrison lose his WBO featherweight title to Mexican Manuel Medina.
Those supporters heading for an early exit had probably made the best decision as the four-round contest was hardly one for the purists.
Paisley referee Victor Loughran awarded the contest to Young by 40-35 after a scrappy affair which saw Williamson given a count early in the second round despite only slipping to the canvas.
Williamson did manage to find his opponent's chin with a couple of short counter rights but his best shot of the night came in the dying seconds of the final round when he caught Young with a jarring left.
Unfortunately it came to late to make any difference and Young fully deserved his victory which takes his winning record to 5-0.
