MILITANT pro-hunt supporters have formed terrorist-like "cells" and are preparing to wreak havoc in Worcester.
The Real Countryside Alliance - whose membership is clouded in secrecy and likens its structure to terrorist groups - plans a series of "spectacular" acts in a last-ditch bid to force a Government climbdown.
And the Real CA, as the group calls itself, has put Worcester's anti-hunting MP Mike Foster on its hit-list.
The group, which has no connection with the Countryside Alliance, began plotting sabotage after the House of Commons' Monday, June 30, vote for a total ban on foxhunting.
The Bill to ban hunting with hounds cleared the Commons, last Wednesday, after MPs gave it a Third Reading. It now goes to the House of Lords.
Real CA spokesman Edward Duke remained tight-lipped about the campaign, but said it would be "spectacular".
In the past, it has discussed targeting electricity pylons and food deliveries if a total ban on hunting went ahead.
The cells - each five fanatics strong - were working out the final details in the area and "ready to act", said Mr Duke.
"It could be something like releasing 250 sheep in Worcester town centre on a Monday morning.
"We won't be stooping to the level of the anti-hunt brigade, who've beaten up people. We're not violent.
"Foster's on our list and we'll be stopping him going to work, harassing him all the way and tailing him home."
Worcestershire Countryside Alliance spokesman David Stocker said it did not condone law breaking but could understand why people were angry.
But MP Mike Foster remained defiant.
"You cannot be put off by threats, otherwise you give way to the rule of the mob," he said.
"Most people, whether they agree or disagree with it, acknowledge that Parliament has voted through the democratic process of the House of Commons and, hopefully, soon the House of Lords.
"As soon as you start to cave in to action groups, there'll be no sort of democracy."
Sgt Dave Coulson, of Worcester police, said: "We'll be happy to facilitate any lawful protest, but an unlawful demonstration will clearly bring the group concerned into conflict with the judicial system."
