THIS hot dog splashed it all over as temperatures soared in Worcester.

Dozer cooled off at the South Quay Fountain as the mercury soared to 34.6C (94F) in the Faithful City yesterday.

The parched pooch joined thousands across the city in taking some liquid refreshment on the hottest day of the year so far.

Shops were selling out of drinks, ice-creams and barbecue equipment as people tried to cool down in the sweltering heat.

Meanwhile, animal-owners have been warned to keep their pets covered up after a hapless hound suffered sunburn.

The weather was set to remain in the mid-30s today - and stay there the rest of the week.
