I FAIL to see what Michael Clift (You Say, Monday, June 30) finds so intolerant and extreme in supporting the Jewish people and their only state.
I'm sceptical about most UN declarations, especially towards Israel. The world's only Jewish state can hardly be expected to be given a fair hearing when outnumbered by Islamic and Communist states.
That many Palestinians may have been unfairly deprived of land by the Israel's government is probable.
However, it's unfair for the responsibility for this to be landed upon the thousands of settlers.
Squatters in Britain would receive a fairer hearing than the Jewish settlers.
They simply want the right to live, work and find a family where providence has allowed.
