I DON'T understand the so-called 'British Mentality' of supporting only British sports stars simply because they're British.
There must be a lot of depressed fans out there at the moment.
Not me! Considering myself European, I'm enjoying sport this summer.
A European, Roger Federer, won Wimbledon, even though British no-hoper Tim Henman is recognised as having home advantage.
He loses every time he plays anyone near the top 10.
Another European, Ralf Schumacher, has won the past two Formula 1 Grands Prix, while another British no-hoper, David Coulthard, is happy to finish in the top six!
At the Eurovision Song Contest, I was delighted Turkey won, though I personally thought Belgium had the best song.
Needless to say, the United Kingdom excelled itself that night with no points, coming last.
France has recently won football's Confederations Cup and Germany did us proud in reaching the World Cup Final.
If you add up all the European gold medals likely in next year's Olympic Games, in Greece, I can confidently predict that we'll come first, even with Britain's athletes.
If people in this country want to support winners, become European, which we naturally are, and not get stuck in the single-minded pursuit of supporting only British losers.
