AN investigation has been launched after police found a 36-year-old man unconscious outside a Redditch pub.
The man, who is in a serious but stable condition, was discovered at about 11.15pm on Saturday, July 5, at the Archers pub in Birchfield Road, Headless Cross.
He was taken to the Alexandra Hospital where he was treated and discharged for a head injury.
But the man's condition was later found to be more serious and he has been re-admitted to hospital.
DS Brian Russell, of Redditch police, said: "We believe the man was hit over the head but at this stage, it is not known exactly how the victim's injuries were caused.
"What appeared to be a fairly minor incident to start with is now looking like a serious assault."
He added: "We understand that the victim was in the pub drinking with friends prior to the incident and that a member of the public offered first aid at the scene.
"We would very much like to talk with anyone with information and they can call me on 08457 444888."
Information can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
