RESIDENTS who want to create their own parking spaces in their front gardens can now apply for a £200 grant from Redditch Council.
The grants are being provided for 'in-curtilage' parking to help ease parking hot-spots in areas around town, especially near schools.
People could then park their cars off-road, which could help with congestion and visibility.
Meanwhile, the council's Executive Committee has asked for a survey of areas where parking is causing problems.
The council will then prioritise the worse areas in the hope of improving them.
Officer Barbara Webster said some residents had already been petitioning the council for parking improvements.
She said the authority would welcome and encourage others who had concerns about parking in their area to do the same.
That information would then be fed into the survey.
