HEREFORDSHIRE had to settle for a draw in their Minor Counties Champion-ship Western Division clash with Devon at Torquay.
Set a daunting 406 to win in 68 overs, they closed on 276-4 led by an unbeaten 103 from Rob Hughes, with support from Ismail Dawood (64), Karl Pearson (43) and Ravi Nagra (43).
Earlier Devon had been reduced to 188-7 in their second innings, but they recovered thanks to an unbroken eighth-wicket stand of 146 between Chris Mole (136no) and David Court (70no), enabling them to declare on 334-7. Matt Rawnsley finished with 3-91 to give him eight wickets in the match.
Herefordshire now need to win their remaining two matches to stand any chance of retaining their Western Division title.
