WORCESTERSHIRE County Cricket Club defeated Droitwich Spa CC's First XI by 164 runs in David Leatherale's benefit match.
Crowds flocked to St Peter's Field last Monday to soak up the scorching sun, as well as bar and barbecue, and watch Spa pit their wits against the county's finest including Kadir Ali, Ben Smith and Gareth Batty.
Worcestershire batted first and rattled up a mammoth 378-5 from 40 overs.
Kadir Ali's 83 from 62 balls, Steve Rhodes' 74 from 65 balls and academy player Darryl Mitchell's 73 from 44 balls did the damage.
Long-serving Leatherdale also hit 75 from 45 balls and Matt Mason struck a whirlwind 26 off six balls.
Spa's Martin Woodward picked up two wickets and Glen Harrison, Mike Wallis and Dan Garbett had a wicket apiece while skipper Steve Walsh made three stumpings.
In reply, Spa reached a respectable 214-7 with Paul Bryan (61) and Mike Rogers (69) the pick of the batting.
