Dear Editor - I have recently visited the show flats at the new Worcester Road development in Droitwich Spa and was told if anyone requiring a flat had two cars, the second would have to be parked on the road. When plans were submitted for these flats, an underground car park was to be developed for around 90 cars, why have members of the council allowed the builders to scrap this plan?
All that talk about salt mines and brine seems to be a red herring, the Worcestershire Hotel had enormous cellars, three floors deep, big enough for a hundred cars or more, the reason they were not developed for car space was cost. The developers wanted more profit, so it was easier to fill the cellars with huge amounts of rubble from the hotel. The developers should be made to clear the rubble out of the cellars and stick to the original plans.
Disgusted of Droitwich Spa.
