Dear editor - In response to Frank Simmonds' letter, I totally repudiate the things he said.
Firstly if, according to Mr Simmonds, only one or two people object to this scheme, I challenge him to survey the residents in the Meadows to find out exactly how many people are against this project, he will certainly find more than one or two objecting.
I have spoken to quite a number of residents in this area, all of who were totally unaware of the proposed site for this hair-brained scheme. Secondly, if Mr Simmonds is so keen for this project to go ahead, then let him have it on his own doorstep, although I am doubtful whether the residents in Shepherds would see it that way.
Finally, how dare Mr Simmonds compare my generation to that of today's. Admittedly, we got up to pranks - pranks being the operative word, but we never deliberately vandalised property, mugged OAP's, used disgusting language - even children as young as ten pulling out a knife and stabbing someone on a whim - need I go on?
Alternative sites are part of King Georges, The Vac Den (which has now been vandalised), the playing fields on Westlands First School or they can go to the existing leisure centre with all the facilities they could want and at least there they would be properly supervised.
Mrs D Earl, Meadow Court,
Westlands, Droitwich Spa.
