A NEW £2.88m hospital extension, set to benefit the residents of Droitwich Spa has been officially unveiled.
The extension at the Droitwich Spa Private Hospital in St Andrew's Road, was officially opened by mid Worcestershire MP Peter Luff on Friday.
The new extension includes a ten-bed short stay unit, a third operating theatre, an enlarged pathology unit and extended recovery bay.
A number of healthcare officials attended the event including members of the BMI board.
The hospital's executive director, Michael Scott said: "We have now been serving the community in this region for nearly two decades and the additional and expanded facilities which are now available to us can only enhance the wide range of services and clinical specialities which we are able to offer."
The hospital, part of the BMI Healthcare group, now has a total of 46 beds . Building work has taken 15 months.
