REVELLERS are being warned to be careful when they are out in Redditch town centre after several reports of people having their drinks spiked.
Redditch police have launched an investigation after one man spent three days in hospital claiming his drink had been spiked at a town centre venue.
One woman has also told police she suffered memory loss after her drink was spiked and another woman said she became very ill.
Both had been out in the town centre.
At this stage police, who received the reports over the weekend, are uncertain as to what substances may have been used to spike the drinks.
Insp Gareth Prosser, of Redditch police, said: "It may be that there are others who have suffered more than expected after a night out and we would like to hear from them."
He added: "It's important people know where their drinks are and are either looking after them themselves or someone they know very well is looking after them.
"This is something that could have happened in Redditch or anywhere else and we do not believe there is a specific problem in the town at this time.
"Officers are aware this type of incident does occur, especially in metropolitan cities.
"However, we are uncertain as to what substance or substances have been used and how they will affect people, therefore at this time we can only offer advice."
