IT will cost more than £2,000 to clear up the mess left by travellers who stopped at the side of a Redditch road for almost three weeks.
Redditch Council will have to foot the bill for the rubbish, opposite Bartleet Road in Washford.
Steps will now be taken to stop travellers in the future, including installing large mounds of soil called bunds.
More travellers have arrived on a council-owned site nearby and yesterday, council officers were seeking a court order to move them off.
Residents complained about bunds when they were installed along Far Moor Lane, Winyates Green, saying they were unsightly.
