HAVING read two reports in the Advertiser, I have come to the conclusion that the money spent on installing CCTV in the town centre was a waste.
In one report, the police say they are going to step up patrols in the town centre to try to cut down on violent crime, which is on the increase.
And in another, the council says that as fast as they put new flowers in the planters on Church Green and Alcester Street, someone is pulling them up and scattering them along the street.
Surely, all of this should be observed by whoever is operating the CCTV system and a police officer sent to arrest the culprits while still in the area.
If this is not the case, then many thousands of pounds of taxpayers' money has been completely wasted.
