PACE ace Glenn McGrath is now turning his sights on Warwickshire after his debut for Worcestershire was wrecked by rain which prevented any play in yesterday's Benson and Hedges Cup clash with Somerset at Taunton.
The abandonment means the County return to the top of their group table and remain on course for a place in the quarter-finals.
They wrap up their zonal programme on Monday against arch-rivals Warwickshire at Edgbaston when McGrath will come face to face with South African star Allan Donald.
Yesterday's abandonment was the third in four matches for Worcestershire.
Their opening game at Northamptonshire was called off without a ball being bowled and only ten overs were possible in the match with Gloucestershire at New Road.
The wet weather relented sufficiently for them to register a home nine-wicket triumph over Glamorgan.
After yesterday's wash-out, McGrath said: "It's disappointing to go to Taunton and not play as it would have been nice to have got the first game under my belt and to have got off to a good start. But that's the way it goes. Weather is one of those things you can't control.
"It's part and parcel of cricket this time of the year over here. But it's disappointing and we are keen to get out there. If we had got two points we would probably have been ensured of a place in the quarter-finals."
County skipper Graeme Hick said: "It's disappointing for the players and spectators. Everyone looks forward to the summer and it's frustrating when you just sit around doing nothing. At the moment the Benson and Hedges is a bit of an anti-climax.
"The season started a couple of weeks early to get in the summer's schedule. We might have had a cold and dry April and been okay, but the weather this time of year is a bit doubtful so maybe it wasn't quite the right thing."
Looking towards Monday's clash McGrath said: "Hopefully we will get a game and the local derby is always a good one so I hear. Talking to the guys they say there's always a little bit more feeling in the match and it should be a good one to watch."
