JOHN Brain has done a U-turn over Tony Windo and will allow the prop to tour Chile next month with an England Counties XV.
Worcester's director of rugby had insisted, when the 33-year-old player was named as the captain of the squad for a three-match tour of South America, that Windo would not be released.
However, after discussions with management and the Rugby Football Union, Brain has decided to let Windo go. "Tony has had a hard domestic season but we recognise that he has been made captain and we want to co-operate with the RFU," said Brain.
The 26-man squad, featuring former Sixways star Ricky Pellow, will play representative sides from the North and South of Chile before the Test in Santiago on June 29.
The players will fly out on June 18 after a three-day training camp at RAF Cosforth in Shropshire.
