WORCESTERSHIRE'S fixture with the touring West Indians at New Road has been re-scheduled.
Originally a four-day game planned for Wed-nesday, May 31, to Saturday, June 3, it will now be a three-day match played from Friday, June 2, to Sunday, June 4.
The change has been forced due to late amendments to the scheduling of the West Indies v Pakistan tour programme .
The final Test match between West Indies and Pakistan is now not scheduled to finish until Monday, May 29. The West Indies team arrives on Wednesday, May 31, and the ECB has agreed to the West Indies wish to start its tour on June 2.
Worcestershire secretary Mike Vockins said: "We are delighted that we shall still play the West Indies, and that the fixture will maintain the tradition of the opening first-class match of the tour being played at Worcestershire.
"But the re-arrangement, though understandable and apparently unavoidable, is frustrating, particularly as fixtures were agreed last October and our lists have long been published."
