MALVERN Town U18s rounded off a fine season with a comfortable 3-1 win over Cinderford Town goals coming from Mike Cole (two) and Dale Humphries.
The Town finished third in the Midland Floodlit Youth League, ahead of local rivals Worcester City, Gloucester City and Evesham United, a number of which are in full time training.
Head of youth Les Jones said: "The squad has played some outstanding football this campaign, which has been borne out by the fact that as many as nine of the squad have received county representative honours.
"Further testament of the improving quality of the youth section is that Mike Cole, Jamie Thomas and Steve Thomas have broken into the first team squad."
Les continued: "This has been a great achievement, but what is more encouraging, and bodes well for the future, is that our U17 team, which won the U18 WFA County Cup, has provided half the current squad and will form the backbone of next year's team.
"With this flow of talent, the U16s recent cup success is in addition to the above, I can soon foresee some selection problems for the Malvern Town first team manager."
