KIDDERMINSTER Harriers manager Jan Molby was a happy man after his side continued their improvement with a 0-0 draw at Scarbor-ough in the Nation-wide Conference.
He said "You have to be happy with a point at Scarborough.
"Four or six weeks ago we would have lost this game, but we dug in and deserved a draw.
"Neither team really troubled the goalkeepers a lot but we had the best chance of the game when Stewart Hadley hit the post.
"The conditions were very difficult and when the rain became much worse in the second half everybody stood up to the challenge and the back four and goalkeeper Tim Clarke were superb."
Molby added: "I think Craig Hinton deserves special praise, along with Adie Smith they never gave the Scar-borough strikers a sniff of the goal.
"We are becoming more and more of a unit and although this was not our best performance of the season there will be plenty of games like this where you have to dig in. We have a couple of big games coming up so this result is a real boost."
Molby recalled skipper Paul Webb to midfield after suspension and also defender Craig Hinton.
On a wet afternoon both sides played some good passing football, although conditions got considerably more difficult in the second half.
Scarborough made the early running and goalkeeper Tim Clarke did well to block a close-range shot from striker Steve Brodie.
Scarborough's recent £60,000 signing from Altrincham Paul Ellender then broke forward from his defensive position to test Clarke with a powerful shot which he dealt with comfortably.
Midfielder Mike Marsh was booked for a foul as Harriers came back into the game towards half-time.
Full-back Scott Stamps got forward to hit a powerful 30-yard shot which was deflected for a corner, then Smith blazed a free-kick wide.
The second half followed the same pattern with Scarborough pushing forward but finding Clarke in good form when they created openings. He got a hand to an angled shot from Brodie to push it around the post for a corner.
A minute later Molby sent on substitute Stewart Hadley for Mark Druce up front. In the 74th minute it nearly paid dividends as Hadley got up above the defence to head Stamps' free kick down against the foot of the post.
As the match went into added time, Harriers had a chance to win it when midfielder Dean Bennett went on a long solo run which ended with a shot that 'keeper Andy Woods saved at the second attempt.
