AGGBOROUGH is obviously a nice place to be at the moment.
Four Nationwide League Division Three wins on the trot and everybody is starting to talk about us securing a place in the play-offs.
That, of course, is our target, but we mustn't get carried away.
There's still a long way to go and we've a lot of tough matches coming up - none more so than on Saturday when we entertain Luton Town.
I still feel it's a little bit too early to say whether we've finally turned the corner after our slow start to the season, but the potential is definitely there.
All the players deserve a pat on the back for the way they have managed to turn things around since our bitterly disappointing l-0 defeat at Carlisle United on October 20.
I firmly believe that some of them have finally realised how important their career at Kidderminster Harriers is to them in their lives, second only to their health and families in my view. It's clear to me that their approach is far more professional and their work rate has increased, although that's probably due to the new system we are playing. Every player is well aware that there's no hiding place on the pitch any more and I'm delighted with the way they are all carrying out their various responsibilities.
Before I mention this Saturday's match with Luton just a few words about the 3-0 win over our former Nationwide Conference rivals Rushden & Diamonds at Aggborough.
I thought our first two goals by Dean Bennett and Mark Blake were fantastic while the third was a mistake by Rushden, although Colin Larkin still had plenty of work to do to put the ball away. All in all we have to be pleased with the performance but, as I say, there's still another 26 league matches left for us to play.
But the qualities we have got - fitness and pace - are making it difficult for sides to play against us.
When you have got pace in your side you will always get chances and on Saturday we took them well.
I think it's pretty clear to anyone who watches us that we have a great will to win at the moment.
I'm sure the players realise they were under achieving earlier on in the season and are determined to make up for it.
But we're well aware of what we are capable of. We have got some excellent footballers here and everybody throughout the squad is doing his bit to make sure we continue to improve.
They, like the management, directors and supporters, obviously have an eye on the play-offs.
Whether we achieve it remains to be seen, but I must admit it would be nice to see some of the other play-off contenders start dropping points.
At the moment, though, it's one match at a time and we're now fully focused on Saturday's home game with Luton.
They are a team everybody expects to bounce straight back after being relegated from the Second Div-ision last season.
Last Saturday, though, they suffered a surprise 4-1 defeat at Macclesfield, so we'll have to be on our guard against them. You can bet your life they'll be doing their ut-most to get back on track against us.
