SCOTT Barrow is determined to make it back to the big time next season with Worcester Rugby Club.
The 20-year-old centre, who was out of contract when the season ended, has agreed to sign a new deal with the Sixways club in a bid to make it into rugby union's top flight.
Barrow left Super League giants St Helens last year after the Merseysiders let him go and he knows he cannot stay out of the spotlight for too long if his ambitions are to be realised.
Barrow said: "I came into a different code and I knew that I would first of all have to be patient for a chance at Worcester.
"I think I had a good season there since I made my debut in January but we were all very disappointed to miss out on promotion.
"What I think we need to do next season is go unbeaten to win promotion.
"We lost two games last year and that was enough for us to miss out on the title.
"It's not going to be easy because Rotherham have had a year's experience in the Premiership but I think we are all confident of achieving our aim of getting into the Premiership."
Barrow had offers to tempt him back into League from Leeds and Halifax but never wanted to leave Worcester or Union.
However, he could have left the club if there had been a mass exodus of players following last season's failure to win the National One title.
In the end, most of the big name stars look to have pledged their futures to the club despite the departures of Andy Higgins and Chris Simpson-Daniel to Bristol.
Barrow added: "I wanted to make sure that most of the players, such as Teki (Tuipulotu), were staying before I signed but I never wanted to leave.
"They have offered me a great package and I never thought about leaving because Worcester is such a good club to be at.
"It was disappointing that Andy Higgins left though because I would have liked to play with him and strike up a partnership."
