A BIGGER and better computer centre is set to educate people of all ages when it runs another set of workshops in August.
Online@stjohns, part of Community Online, began holding its workshops last Christmas for people attended computing courses.
The workshops - where residents can learn everything from researching their own family history to surfing the net - are held for two hours over a three week period.
The centre moved to a larger room at Worcester YMCA, Henwick Road, in May after it installed five new computers, bringing the total to 12.
"There will be a word for windows workshop, which will probably take place in the last week in August, " said Rachel Coss, learning centre assistant at the centre.
"Genealogy was done as part of an internet workshop.
"We did a word workshop at Christmas where people learnt how to make Christmas cards."
People aged 25 to 65 attend the courses, which cover literacy, spread sheet and data base learning.
"People have to do a course if they want to do a workshop," said Miss Coss.
"The genealogy workshop was used to trace family history and people enjoyed it.
"It was very popular."
The new computer centre now has its own entrance, and around 160 students.
"We are still waiting for a sign for the entrance," said Miss Coss.
