THE sun came out adding to the warm welcome given to the many visitors to the delightful garden of Andrew and Inis Compton at Ambleside, Corse, which they opened to the public in aid of the Gloucester branch of Motor Neurone Association and which will receive the magnificent sum of £1,013 as a result.
Enthusiastic members of the family and friends helped to make the day so successful with a garage sale, tombola and raffle helping to swell the funds. Visitors were treated to delicious cream and strawberry jam scones with tea or coffee. Many people spent a relaxing time in the garden watching the goldfish darting about in the pool. Andrew and Inis give special thanks to Southend Nurseries for plants, St George's Bakery for scones, Hartpury Dairy for cream and Mrs Langley and Mrs Warner for cut flowers and to all the many friends and family for their hard work and help in once again making the day a great success.
