TWO nurses went that extra mile - 190 to be exact - in an energetic fund-raiser for Acorns Children's Hospice.
District Nursing Sisters Heather Mann, aged 49, of Spring Gardens Health Centre, Worcester, and Desi Green, aged 58, walked from St Bees, Cumbria, to Robin Hood's Bay in Yorkshire, to raise a healthy £1,400.
Mrs Green, a retired nurse from Laugherne Road, St John's, said both the walk and support they received was fantastic, but it was only after they had finished that they realised they had worn odd boots.
"I was wearing one size six boot and one size five and Heather had done exactly the same," she said.
"Luckily we didn't get any blisters and we had a good laugh about it all afterwards."
