I WAS pleased to read that Mr Bradford's grandson had a positive experience at Malvern Link C of E School (Your Letters, July 11).
I wish my child had the same experience as a pupil at the school.
Like Mr Bradford, I have had a long association with the school.
I was shocked and dismayed when my child became the victim of repeated bullying. I was equally dismayed when the school failed to prevent the problem continuing.
Over an 18 month period I pursued all the channels at my disposal to protect my child without success. I felt I had no further option but to transfer my child to another school.
Bullying is a serious problem in schools. This must be recognised and dealt with appropriately.
Malvern Link CE Primary School has failed and Mr Bradford should not defend the indefensible.
If he is genuinely concerned he should support the school to make the changes needed to safeguard all its pupils. He should not try to belittle parents who are trying to protect their children just because their experiences with the school are different from his own.
I made the right decision to remove my child from Malvern Link. I hope that the school can move forward by acknowledging its failings and addressing them. Undermining the seriousness of these issues will not solve them.
