THE airwaves were filled with the sound of The Chase's very own radio station, run from the Geraldine Road school.
The school was granted a five-day temporary radio license to broadcast 24 hours a day as Chase FM 107.2 during last week. The broadcasts were part of a series of events marking the school's 50th anniversary.
The programmes aired included music from Chase students as well as tracks recorded by local primary schools. There were also interviews and poetry readings among the shows.
Head Kevin Peck said he came up with the idea through his work with YouthComm, which runs a youth radio service in Worcester. It provided the equipment for the Chase's venture and now Mr Peck said he hopes it will become a regular event.
"It was a really tremendous experience for the young people who had the opportunity to speak," he said.
"If possible I'd like to do it annually but I'm very aware of the time and energy involved. Certainly every couple of years we'd like to do it."
