THE Evesham Golden Mile Indoor Rowing Championships were held at Evesham Rowing Club.
The entry doubled in size with just under 100 entries, due to the efforts of Robin Walker of Evesham RC and Evesham's Eddie Fletcher, coach of the Old Wrecks Indoor Rowing Club.
Local women's winners included Evesham RC's Crystal MacLeod in the U23 section in 5:46.8. After setting the record last year for the Junior 18 category, she improved her time by nearly nine seconds to set a new 19-29 record.
Evesham's Helen Barnett (Old Wrecks) won the 30-39 years section in a new record time of 5:46.6.
World champion Anna Bailey from Hanley Swan had the fastest overall women's time of the day (5:42.0) to win the 50-59 section.
In the men's Junior 13, Tom Walker (Evesham RC) gained top ranking in his age group with a time of 5:55.8.
In the 40-49 lightweight, Neil Staite (Evesham RC) also set a new record with 5:07.8.
