I RESENT N Taylor's appalling attitude towards domestic cats, (You Say, Monday, July 7).
These loveable small creatures bring endless pleasure to many humans - particularly elderly spinsters and widows.
Of course, cats kill many rats and mice. In doing so they render a great service to humans. Does N Taylor wish to be over-run with these dreadful rodents?
As for cats' excrement - that may well be a good fertiliser. When I was a lad, gardeners did not use hard-earned money to buy costly bags of compost - they used dollops of horse manure instead! - and it was very effective too.
N Taylor should be prepared to get his hands dirty in the garden and to stop being so fussy.
D E MARGRETT,
Worcester.
