Having lost the toss again, Colwall Seconds' opponents Wooton Bassett chose to bat on what was a hard and dry wicket but lost their opener Smith after two overs.
Things continued to go well for Colwall and Wooton Bassett were left struggling on 82-6 after 32 overs. But if Colwall thought the game was wrapped up, they were wrong.
A stand of 64 from Keith Pamdhilon (27) and Greg Jefferies (47) took Wooton Bassett to 146. The remaining batsmen added 15 more before being bowled out for 161 in the 44th over.
The pick of the bowlers for Colwall was Dorian Dentith who finished with figures of 3-31 in a 10 over spell.
In response, Colwall were immediately on the back foot loosing early wickets giving the visitors hope of a much-needed win.
After some hesitation, Colwall began to take control and with Wooton Bassett down to 10 men due to the work commitments of one of their players the game began to turn in Colwall's favour. Important contributions from Lee Hankins (25) Martin Oliver (59) and 15-year-old Ben Ford (24) steered the home side to victory with four overs to spare and three wickets remaining.
