WORCESTER Canoe Club came home with a clutch of medals from the National Sprint Championships held at the National Watersports Centre in Nottingham.
George Parker took a gold medal in the 1,000m U18 boys K4 and a silver in the 500m, competing in K1 he took top 10 placings over both 500m and 1000m.
Twin sisters Claire and Laura Moran racing together in the K2 doubles took a clutch of medals in the U16 girls -- silvers in the 200m and 2,500m and bronzes in the 500m and 1,000m.
In the singles Claire pulled off her best performance of the year, taking bronze in the U16 girls 1,000m and 2,500m with Laura close behind just outside the medals.
Joining girls from other clubs in K4, the sisters added silver medals over 500m and 1000m.
In an exciting race Ben Holmes took silver in the boys' U14 500m. He also took silver in the 2500m.
Paddling doubles (K2) above his age group in U16 boys with Mark Thomas of Banbury, Holmes showed his high standard by taking silver and bronze in the 500m and 1,000m.
The club's latest crop of juniors also took medals.
In the U12 class Stephanie Holmes took the silver in the U12 500m and was fifth in the 1,000m. Competing in the U10s Emma Hawthorn took bronze 1,000m and fifth over 500m.
Other notable results included Jake Saunders finishing eighth in the boys U14 2500m, while Alex Jew, missing the U10 age group cut off by three weeks, put in times that would have placed him in the silver medal position in the U10s.
Brothers Chris and John Dearden both paddled well in U14 and U16 boys' events, while the other end of the spectrum the club's veterans Mike Hawthorn and Fess Parker took bronze in the K2 500m in the Veteran 'A' section, while Andy Holmes and Mick Moran took silver and bronze in the Veteran 'B' 1000m and 500m respectively.
Dave Pedlar won silver in the Senior Mens B K2.
