POLICE are appealing for information after a 13-year-old girl was followed home by a man on a bike in Droitwich.
The incident happened some time between 3.55pm and 4.05pm yesterday as the teenager was leaving Droitwich High School.
The girl noticed a man fixing his bike on the side of the road near to her and, as she walked home, she noticed him following her a few yards behind.
As she turned into the alleyway leading to Park Way the man got in front of her and blocked her way. She then told him to leave her alone and ran away.
The man is described as white, in his 20s-30s, pale-skinned and with short brown/black hair which was sticking up or fluffy.
He had bad teeth and possibly dark brown eyes and was wearing khaki trousers, a khaki T-shirt with medium black stripes and black leather shoes.
The bike he was riding was described as a red adult's mountain bike with a water-holder on it.
"Although this is an isolated incident, we are naturally taking the matter very seriously and would like to hear from anyone who was near the school at this time," said Sgt Janet Heritage.
"I would remind youngsters that if they are offered lifts or are concerned by anyone they believe to be following them, they should go immediately to the nearest busy area with lots of people around, or run straight home."
Anyone with information should contact police on 08457 444 888.
