AN ambulance crew was forced to call for police after a drunken patient they were treating became aggressive and started swearing.
Student Alistair Davidson had consumed so much alcohol he was unable to stand, Worcester Magistrates heard.
The 21-year-old had been on an all-day drinking session in Malvern. He had fallen over and paramedics were called. He then launched his aggressive and verbal assault on the ambulance crew and was later restrained and arrested by police officers.
Difficult
Prosecuting, Peter Parson, said the incident happened in Worcester Road on Wednesday, April 16, just before 11.30pm.
"He was proving extremely difficult to treat, being extremely aggressive and started swearing at them," he said.
"He was warned by police, but he continued to be aggressive.
He was subsequently arrested by the officers.
"It was plain to the police that he had been drinking considerably... he could not stand up."
Davidson of Archers Close, Malvern, admitted being drunk and disorderly in a public place.
Defending himself, Davidson said it had been a one-off incident.
"We had broken up from college for half-term and been drinking all day," he said.
"It was one drink after another. It was all very regrettable."
Davidson was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £50 costs.
