MR Burgess, in his replies to Mr Brett, is frequently referring to the Burns Report and, yet, when Mr Brett quotes it back at him, he doesn't like it!
As to his reference of 'well-edited videos' it would be interesting to know from where he obtains his evidence for such an allegation.
I recall vividly the film clip shown on national television of a hare, crying in terror, being used as a tug of war between two dogs.
It is difficult to see how such a dreadful incident could be edited. I would like to know just what happened to that animal.
Did the picker-up break its neck? I very much doubt that it lived to play and frolic another day.
As for the Burns Report stating that hare coursing isn't cruel, part of the section read: "We are similarly satisfied that being pursued, caught and killed by dogs during coursing seriously compromises the welfare of the hare."
Definition of to compromise: "To bring into danger by indiscreet action."
Anyone can see that this does not say hare coursing is not cruel.
