Old hands Mark Crisp and Kevin Rowlands were among the goals as Studley opened their pre-season campaign with an 8-1 thumping of Northfield Town.

The Midland Combination visitors agreed to Sunday's Beehive clash after West Bromwich Albion pulled out of Saturday's fixture.

A Crisp hat-trick lead the onslaught with veteran Rowlands adding a double. Craig Pountney, Mark Beddowes and Scott Walsh were also on the scoresheet.

But Bees boss Mark Chambers realises his side will find it harder going in their next few games against three Dr Martens League sides.

Studley were set to travel to Stourport Swifts tonight (Wednesday) before playing host to Redditch United on Saturday and Halesowen Town next Tuesday, July 29.

The Studley manager is delighted to have kept the nucleus of last year's side but admits that he needs more strength in depth - and that could mean more new faces before the Midland Football Alliance season starts on August 16.

The visit of neighbours Redditch United is one game the manager is looking forward to.
