TO mark the 100th anniversary of Emmeline Pankhurst's founding of the Women's Social and Political Union, canal-based Mikron Theatre Company presents A Woman's Place - The Fight for Women's Suffrage in Bromsgrove on Sunday.
As part of the company's 32nd national waterways tour, the production, which takes place at the Ladybird Inn from 5pm, tells the story of the epic struggle for votes for women in the decade leading up to World War I.
The show is written by Mike Lucas and Rodney Matthew with some original songs and music by Jim Woodland and features four actor-musicians.
It focuses on the relationship between Emma Taylor, a Lancashire millworker played by Marianne McNamara and Mrs Pankhurst's militant suffragette daughter, Christabel, played by Kate Buxton.
The other cast members are Peter Toon and Charley Moon.
The performance at the Finstall Road venue is sponsored by the Ladybird Inn and Sunrise Windows of Redditch.
A spokesman said: "There are no tickets - just turn up in good time.
"The company will take a collection after the show."
