BROMSGROVE Cricket Club First XI could find themselves dragged into a relegation battle if results do not improve, according to skipper Nick Husbands.
The Boars lost their fourth game in Birmingham and District division one this season last Saturday, going down by five wickets at home to Kenilworth Wardens.
Husbands said: "I am running out of things to say because we are making the same errors week by week. I am pleased with the form of certain players like Jamie Campbell and Ross Liddell, and Nick Davies is consistent, but 149 runs from 55 overs isn't going to cause too many problems for sides in this league.
"We had a good chat after the match and everybody had their say. We have drawn up some key areas where we need to improve and we'll take it from there."
Husbands lost the toss and was asked to bat first on a good wicket. Nick Reade (14) found it hard going and was bowled by Pidgeon.
Davies looked to take control but could only watch as Simon Keyte and Paul Duffy both recorded ducks.
Campbell (30) joined Davies and the pair put on 50 before Davies went for a well made 59. Liddell (25) joined Campbell, but after taking the score to 129-4 with ten overs remaining, both fell in quick succession sparking another collapse that saw the Boars total just 149-9. Pidgeon returned 4-67.
Tight bowling from Jon Farrow and Husbands meant that just nine runs were scored by Kenilworth from the first 11 overs of their reply.
Husbands bowled five consecutive maidens, but Smyth began to score more freely. Husbands took the wicket of Stenning, who had batted 14 overs for just one run, and Davies removed the dangerous Kotack (11).
Henderson (23) and Smyth (54) ensured the game swung Kenilworth's way and not even two late wickets from Farrow could do anything as Pidegeon scored a quick fire 34 to seal Bromsgrove's fate.
