BARNT Green Cricket Club First XI piled on more pressure on the Birmingham and District premier division leaders with a resounding eight-wicket home victory against Coventry and North Warwickshire.
Lyndon Jones' side, still third in the Birmingham and District premier division needed just 30 of their 55 overs to pass the visitors' 148-8, helped largely by Matt Dalloway's 45 and 67 not out from Richard Wilkinson.
And the skipper is in confident mood as the championship race hots up.
He said: "It was a great performance. We are playing some positive cricket at the moment.
"There are some big games ahead and we are going to look to get a positive result against Shrewsbury this Saturday. We have got as good a chance as anyone."
Jones won the toss and put Coventry in, but good bowling from Richard Illingworth (3-34) kept the run rate down.
Jones also chipped in with a couple of wickets to dismiss the visitors for 148-8.
In reply, Dalloway and Wilkinson, aided by Gavin Haynes, saw Green comfortably home, ending on 150-2.
