BROMSGROVE Cricket Club Sunday First XI clawed themselves further away from the base of the Worcestershire Sunday League with a five-wicket defeat of Kidderminster.
The St Godwald's Park side, now fifth bottom with 18 points, batted first and posted 235-5 with M Davies hitting an unbeaten 78 and J Rose knocking 54.
In reply, Kiderminster came close but fell short on 229-8.
Droitwich Spa's 75-run loss against Feckenham still leaves them the highest placed of local sides, sitting joint fourth from the summit on 31 points.
In the Second XI matches, Barnt Green stay mid-table after a five-wicket sucess over Evesham.
Green made 252-5 compared to Evesham's 200-8. Bromsgrove received a bye last week.
Elsewhere, two centurions were among the top scorers in the Sunday League.
Droitwich Spa First XI's Ian Cottrill, and a former Worcester City goalkeeper, hit 110 while A Shorey of Evesham Second XI compiled a solid 101 not out.
