INJURED David Brown is due to see a specialist today to assess the extent of the damage to his broken collarbone.
Hereford United's new striker frac-tured the bone in a freak training ground accident when Richard Teesdale toppled on the 24-year-old last week.
Brown carried on training but an X-ray the following day confirmed it was broken and he will learn today how long he will be out for.
"It depends on how bad the break is but it could be anything from two to four weeks or even longer," said Brown.
Despite the injury Brown, who arrived from Telford in the summer to bolster the Bulls' frontline, remains hopeful of being fit for the opening phase of the Conference campaign.
"I've still got three weeks and I'm pretty fit having already done two weeks pre-season training and played in the Wolves match," he added.
Matches
United's opening matches see them away to Tamworth on August 9 and at home to Forest Green three days later.
Trialists Danny Bertram, Danny Craven, and Peter Wilding will learn if they are to be offered contracts this week.
"The trialists were impressive ag-ainst West Brom and we might well be offering contracts before the end of this week," said Hereford manager Graham Turner.
