WORCESTER Dominies & Guild won the West Midlands Regional U13 club cricket championship in a thrilling days cricket at Colwall.
Drawn against Knowle & Dorridge representing War-wickshire in the semi-finals, Dominies & Guild produced an exceptional performance with both bat and ball.
Tight bowling by Bret D'Oliveira (2-15), Charlotte Holtom (1-17), Steve Miles (3-14) and Matt Maskell (2-13) reduced Knowle & Dorridge to 87 all out.
Dominies & Guild opening pair Tom Gwynne and Chris Miles both batted responsible retiring on 30 and Andrew Wilks 18 not out saw the team through to the afternoon final.
Dominies & Guild made a poor start to the final against Cheltenham when Tom Gwynne was caught second ball.
However, solid batting by Chris (12) and Steve (15) Miles recovered the innings.
Andrew Wicks then produced a hard hitting 33 retired and in partnership with Ben Treddinick (14), Bret D'Oliveira (11) and Matt Maskell (13) took the Dominies & Guild score on to 117 after the 20 overs.
A strong opening partnership of 55 by Griffiths and Cudmore put pressure on the Dominies & Guild.
However, superb fielding along with accurate bowling from D'Oliveira, Holtom and Maskell made runs difficult to come by for Cheltenham.
With two overs to go Chelt-enham required 16 runs when Andrew Wicks took a spectacular diving catch.
Marvellous fielding along with tidy keeping from Myles Reece saw Cheltenham needing eight off the last over.
Two run outs and excellent bowling from captain Tom Gwynne helped Dominies & Guild win the day as Chelt-enham failed to get the three runs required off the last ball.
They now go on to represent the West Midlands in the National U13 Club Championships at Oakham School, August 4-8.
