AFTER winning the toss, Kempsey Cricket Club elected to field in a 40 overs-a-side friendly against Old Georgians.
The Old Georgians found runs hard to come and were 59-1 wkt after 20 overs.
J. Cooper (18), J. Libbetta (18), assisted by M. Wenham (43 no), including seven fours, and S. Galagher (11), were the only bats men to reach double figures.
Two brilliant catches on the boundary from Mark Will-iams saw Georgians restricted to 117-5 in their 40 overs.
Eric Hall (3-23) off four overs, Mark Williams (1-19) and Will Perry (1-23) were the best of Kempsey bowlers.
In reply Kempsey made steady progress with David Robinson (43) including five fours and Mark Williams (28) with four fours. Eric Hall (17 n.o) and Steve Robbins (23 n.o) saw Kempsey through to 118-3 in the 25th over.
Kempsey won by seven wickets. I. Wilson (3-29) was the only bowler to make an impression.
