FLYFORD Flavell Cricket Club got back to winning ways with an excellent tour of Bath.

They started with a close match with Shoscoombe.

Flyford batted first and began slowly until Paul Roe entered and smash-ed 46 from just 23 balls.

Then a fine partnership by Peter Holpin (33no) and John Harris (23no) saw Flyford reach 167-4 from their 20 overs.

Shoscoombe struggled against Flyford's attack and Paul Clarke took three quick wickets.

Some big hitting towards the end saw Shoscoombe come close, but eventually they fell short by just 10 runs.

Flyford then outclassed Priston in the next match.

Batting first Flyford raced to 92-0 from 13 overs until Ian Edwards fell for a fine 40.

Paul Young blasted a quick 25. Then Mark Walker and Steve Beavan took charge.

Beavan drove and pulled, while Walker was happy to tick along.

Beavan reached his hundred with a typical hook for four and then departed next ball (212-3).

Alan Moss then joined Walker (54no) and smashed a rapid 25 not out leaving Flyford 267-3.

Flyford then got of to a poor start. Moss dropped an easy catch behind of the first ball, shortly followed by further dropped catched by Clarke and then Moss again.

Priston raced to 70- 0 of just 10 overs. Prison then lost four wickets and chose to play for the draw with 25 overs still to go.

Captain Paul Young chose to bowl himself through to close but failed to brake through some stubborn resistance.

The game finished with a winning draw for Flyford.

Flyford then smashed Mells in their next match.

Rich Leech scored a rapid 39 of 26 balls to open, before Roe (40), Young (49) and Walker (57no) saw the score shoot from 82-3 from 20 overs to 251-6 when Young fell one short of a deserved 50.

With just one over to go Beavan came in at nine and continued on from his ton the day before, smashing 19 from the final over including two towering sixes.

He finished with 21 from just 10 deliveries.

Mells attacked from the start, racing to 75-2 from just seven overs, but some fine bowling from Clarke saw him remove their three most dangerous batsmen.

They soon fell away under the pressure of trying to keep up with the run rate and were dismissed for 132 to enable triumphant Flyford to complete a very successful tour with another fine win.
