ARE you a budding Andy Warhol, Damian Hirst or Tracey Emin? If so, you could be in with the chance of having an exhibition of your work at a Bromsgrove gallery.

The Bohemia Gallery, in Worcester Road, is looking to set up a month-long exhibition of work by a local, contemporary artist throughout September.

Runaway success

The gallery opened at the beginning of June and the manager, Bromsgrove artist Karen Tait, has been astonished at the runaway success of the venture.

"In the run-up to the gallery opening we had everything crossed hoping people would share our passion for the beautiful items we have brought to Bromsgrove," she said. "However, the good wishes and positive reaction from everyone who has made a visit to the gallery has taken us aback and exceeded all our expectations."

The gallery stocks a wide range of artefacts, from exquisite embroidery to colourful murals, for which Karen and her husband Steve Allen have scoured the globe.

Demand has been so great for some of the glasswork by Belgian artist Yvan Royan, that Steve has been making urgent trips to Bruges to bring back new pieces.

And the gallery has received a small delivery of fused glass clocks by Israeli designer Valery Rotenbury, which is likely to be very popular.

However, now Karen is looking to display the work of a lucky Bromsgrove artist.

If you think you fit the bill, youcan either call into the gallery, next to Altered Images, or e-mail some of your work to Karen at karen@bohemia-online.net
