BASSIST Nick Oliveri takes a break from his busy Queens of the Stone Age European tour to release a new album with old band mates.
Mondo Generator are back with their second studio album but it's still not a patch on the Queens.
Although Queens frontman Josh Homme does make some small token addition to the album, it's mainly down to Oliveri and his former Kyuss band member Brant Bjork to make the magic.
And short of hiring Paul Daniels and his lovely assistant Debbie, Mondo Generator unfortunately aren't going to.
But it's not for the lack of trying and that's one of this album's good points.
The effort that's gone into it is incredible and although many of us may think the old Kyuss crew are just in it for the cash you can really tell that the band are trying to push boundaries once more.
But the truth is pass stoner rock just doesn't cut it anymore. I really wanted to like this album but even after listening time and time again, no one song off the long 14-track album jumped out and grabbed me.
A Drug Problem that Never Existed is more stoned than rock.
